Social Dimensions of Aging

Description

This course explores social, cultural, and psychological dimensions of aging. Topics will include issues such as caregiving, ageism, palliative care, and policy impacts on older adults. Students will gain perspective for holistic, person-centered practice in diverse health settings that serve the growing older adult population.

  • Prerequisite(s): HLTH 2003 and third year standing or Permission of the Department.

  • Also offered at the graduate level, with different requirements, as HLTH 5203 , for which additional credit is precluded.
  • Three hour lecture /seminar.
