Storytelling in the Musical Theatre (also offered as ENGL 3P55 and MUSI 3P55 ) Analysis of select operas and musicals, their literary sources and screen adaptations. Effects of medium and social context on the adaptation process. Lectures, 3 hours per week. Prerequisite(s): MUSI 2P55 , or DART 2Q92 , or two credits in ENGL numbered 2(alpha)00 to 2(alpha)99, or permission of the instructor. Note: no prior musical experience is required.
