Slavery in the Middle East Comparative analysis of the institution of slavery in the Middle East since 1800. Political, economic, social and legal ideologies for the organization of the slave trade, the abolition of slavery and the emancipation of slaves. Seminar, 3 hours per week. Restriction: open to HIST (single or combined) and HIST (Honours)/BEd (Intermediate/Senior) majors with approval to year 4 (honours) or permission of the instructor and Chair until date specified in Registration guide.
