Description
Women of the Middle East The significance of religion, culture, economy and politics in shaping the role of women and their contributions to modern Middle Eastern societies. The changing status of Middle Eastern women, and their images in tradition and Islamic law as well as Western literature. Seminar, 3 hours per week. Restriction: open to HIST (single or combined) and HIST (Honours)/BEd (Intermediate/Senior) majors with approval to year 4 (honours) or permission of the instructor and Chair until date specified in Registration guide. Note: this course may be offered in multiple modes of delivery. The method of delivery will be listed on the academic timetable, in the applicable term.
