語言意義的研究。詞彙意義與較大語言表達的意義，包括名詞單位、動詞單位與句子。話語間的意義關係。語言的語義（semantics）與語境意義（語用學，pragmatics）之關係。語義的基本形式處理。
先修條件
- 先修課程：三年級資格，且為下列之一：LALS 1000、LALS 1001、LING 1001、PHIL 2001、PHIL/LALS/LING/COMM/MCOM 2504 或 PHIL/LALS/LING 3504；或哲學系或語言學與應用語言學院許可。
條件與方式
- 另列為 LING 3505。
- 不得取得額外學分：不得取得 LALS 3505 的額外學分。
- 先修課程：三年級資格，且為下列之一：LALS 1000、LALS 1001、LING 1001、PHIL 2001、PHIL/LALS/LING/COMM/MCOM 2504 或 PHIL/LALS/LING 3504；或哲學系或語言學與應用語言學院許可。
