重點研究從但丁的《神曲》至伏爾泰的《老實人》等主要流派與作品。主題包括文藝復興與巴洛克時期的新人文主義對舊騎士精神的衝突；現代小說與戲劇的興起；理性、自然與啟蒙工程。
