基本結構原理及其在建築設計中的應用。平衡與材料力學概念，包括應力與應變。結構計算與對靜態及動態荷重（含重力與側向力）之定性理解。包含木構、砌體、混凝土與鋼構之考量。
先修條件
- 先修課程：ARCH 5221。
條件與方式
- 不另給予 ARCC 5097、CIVE 2005 的加退學分。
- 先修課程：ARCH 5221。
- 亦於本科層級開設，要求不同，為 ARCH 2222，對該課程不另給予加退學分。

Fundamental structural principles and their building design applications. Concepts of equilibrium and mechanics of materials, including stress and strain. Structural calculations and qualitative understanding of static and dynamic loads, including gravitational and lateral forces. Includes consideration of wood, masonry, concrete, and steel structures.
- Prerequisite(s): ARCH 5221 .
- Precludes additional credit for Precludes additional credit for ARCC 5097, CIVE 2005 .
- Also offered at the undergraduate level, with different requirements, as ARCH 2222 , for which additional credit is precluded.
