Chemical and Carbonate Sedimentology Genesis of Evaporites; petrography and cathodoluminescence of carbonate grains; skeletal structures and chemistry; recent carbonate environments; evolution of carbonate mounds; chemical theory of carbonate grains; textural, structural and chemical limestone diagenesis; dolomitization, silicification and pyritization of carbonate grains. Lectures, lab, 5 hours per week. Prerequisite(s): ERSC 2P17 or 2P18 ; ERSC 2P21 or 2P23 or permission of the instructor. Note: this course may be offered in multiple modes of delivery.
