Politics of Latin America (also offered as POLI 3P46 ) Survey of governments and politics of selected Latin American states. Topics may include human insecurity, political institutions, democracy and authoritarianism, populism, revolutions and revolutionaries, social movements and protest, gender and ethnicity, human rights. Lectures, seminar, 3 hours per week. Prerequisite(s): one POLI credit numbered 1(alpha)90 to 1(alpha)99 or permission of the instructor. Note: POLI 2P31 and 2P32 and (2F30) strongly recommended. This course may be offered in multiple modes of delivery. The method of delivery will be listed on the academic timetable in the applicable term.
