Estudo crítico das teorias em mecânica dos solos e sua aplicação à solução de problemas de engenharia geotécnica. Investigações de campo, ensaios laboratoriais e de campo, fundações rasas, sapatas especiais, sapatas associadas, fundações tipo radier, fundações por estacas e escavações. Discussão de novos métodos e pesquisas atuais.
