Language and Discourse: Theory and Practice (também oferecido como COMM 4P10 e ENGL 4P10) Análise da relação entre características estilísticas e contextos discursivos; codificação e encenação de mundos e relações sociais em texto (tanto literários quanto não literários); introdução ao campo dos estudos do discurso em geral, enfatizando a análise crítica do discurso. Seminário, 3 horas por semana. Restrição: aberto a majors ENCW (isolados ou combinados), ENGL (isolados ou combinados), ENGL (Honours)/BEd (Intermediate/Senior), WRDS (isolados ou combinados) até a data especificada no Guia de Registro. Os estudantes devem ter aprovação para o ano 4 (honours) ou permissão do docente e do Presidente. Observação: este curso pode ser oferecido em múltiplos modos de entrega.
