Social Policy (also offered as WGST 4Q41 ) Canadian and comparative social policy issues, with a focus on gender and political economy. Topics may include the sociological political economy of advanced welfare states, welfare state typologies, social and income inequalities in policy formation and delivery, federalism, family policy, and tax policy. Seminar, 3 hours per week. Restriction: open to SOCI (single or combined), CRIM and WGST (single or combined) majors until date specified in Registration guide. Students must have approval to year 4 (honours). Prerequisite(s): SOCI 1P90 and 1P91 (1F90), WGST 1F90 or permission of the instructor. Note: this course may be offered in multiple modes of delivery. The method of delivery will be listed on the academic timetable, in the applicable term.
