18世紀から現代までの精神疾患の歴史。テーマには精神疾患の医学的理解と治療の変遷、患者の経験と精神医療機関および治療の記録、メディアにおける精神疾患の文化的表象、収容所（アサイラム）の歴史などが含まれる。（Field e）。
