言語学の予備知識を前提とせず、この分野の主要概念と課題を上級レベルで紹介する。内容には音声学、音韻論、形態論、統語論、意味論が含まれることがある。本コースはカナダで言語学を初めて学ぶ学生を他の大学院レベルの科目に備えさせる。

Presupposing no prior knowledge of linguistics, this course introduces the key concepts and issues of the discipline at an advanced level. Content may include phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics. The course prepares students new to linguistics in Canada for other graduate-level coursework.
