Descripción
Este curso examina macromoléculas biológicas así como su química, estructura y función. Se hace hincapié en reacciones enzimáticas y su regulación, así como en el metabolismo de carbohidratos, lípidos y proteínas. Los estudiantes aplican el conocimiento de los conceptos del curso a problemas científicos relevantes (enfermedad, desarrollo).
Prerrequisitos
- Prerequisite(s): ( BIOC 2200 o BIOL 2200 ), y ( CHEM 2203 y CHEM 2204 ) o ( CHEM 2207 y CHEM 2208 ).
Condiciones y modalidades
- Impide crédito adicional por CHEM 3401 (ya no se ofrece), CHEM 4401.

- Clases magistrales tres horas a la semana.

This course examines biological macromolecules as well as their chemistry, structure and function. Enzymatic reactions and their regulation, as well as carbohydrate, lipid and protein metabolism, is emphasized. Students apply knowledge of course concepts to relevant scientific problems (disease, development).
