Description
Hermeneutics Philosophical theory of interpretation and understanding, with special reference to the methods employed in the humanities (history, literary criticism); the problems of hermeneutics in the works of such thinkers as Gadamer, Ricoeur, Heidegger and Habermas. Seminar, 3 hours per week. Prerequisite(s): one PHIL credit, or permission of the instructor. Note: this course may be offered in multiple modes of delivery.
