Description
Addiction in the Family Biological, historical, psychological, behavioural, and sociocultural aspects of addictions with a particular focus on how families impact and are impacted by addiction. Topics may include the nature and structure of families, models and theories of addiction, etiology of addictions, assessment and diagnosis, contemporary research in the field of addictions, and different approaches to treatment and recovery. Lectures, seminar, 3 hours per week. Restriction: open to CHYS (single or combined), CHYS BA (Honours)/BEd (Primary/Junior) and CHHS, CHLH majors until date specified in Registration guide. Students must have a minimum of 8.0 overall credits. Prerequisite(s): CHYS 2P10 , 2P35 , or 2P38 Note: this course may be offered in multiple modes of delivery. The method of delivery will be listed on the academic timetable, in the applicable term. Completion of this course will replace previous assigned grade and credit obtained in CHYS 3V93.
