Description

Introduction to Child and Youth Studies Theories, methods and issues involved in studying children and youth from a multidisciplinary perspective. Topics may include the history of childhood, family life, peer relations and children and youth with special needs. Lectures, seminar, 3 hours per week. Restriction: open to students admitted to CHYS (single or combined), CHYS BA (Honours)/BEd (Primary/Junior), CHHS, CHLH, BA (Honours)/BEd (Intermediate/Senior), BA Integrated Studies (Honours)/BEd (Junior/IntermediaA Interactive Arts and Science (Honours)/BEd (Junior/Intermediate), Bte), BPhEd (Honours)/BEd (Junior/Intermediate), BPhEd (Honours)/BEd (Intermediate/Senior), BSc (Honours)/BEd (Intermediate/Senior), BSc Integrated Studies (Honours)/BEd (Junior/Intermediate); FPAC BA and BA (Honours), and CHYS minors until date specified in Registration guide. In Spring session open to all students. Note: this course may be offered in multiple modes of delivery. The method of delivery will be listed on the academic timetable, in the applicable term. Completion of this course will replace previous assigned grade and credit obtained in CHYS 1F95 .
