Description
Ascent of Latin America and the Caribbean (also offered as HIST 2P09 ) From Independence starting in 1791 up to present. Topics include colonial reform, nation-building and nationalisms, republicanism and political activism, democracy, populism, revolutionary governments, dictatorship, and state terror; culture wars and constitutional amendments; transnational solidarity, human rights and environmental justice movements.
