Rights Across Borders Contemporary debate on meaning and implications of human rights as a political entitlement. Current issues in application, verification and enforcement of UN Covenants and related international conventions on human rights and collective rights, including rights of indigenous peoples. Structure, function and impact of regional, national and local human rights institutions in Canada and abroad. Lectures, seminar, 3 hours per week. Prerequisite(s): one POLI credit numbered 1(alpha)90 to 1(alpha)99 or permission of the instructor. Note: this course may be offered in multiple modes of delivery. The method of delivery will be listed on the academic timetable, in the applicable term.
