Description
Foundations of Physics with Laboratory Introduction to mechanics Topics include kinematics (description of motion), statics (forces in balance) and dynamics (causes of motion) in one and two dimensions; rotational motion; work and energy; momentum; and conservation laws. Lectures 4 hours per week; labs/tutorials 2 hours, alternating every week Restriction: not open to Physics single or combined majors or Physics minors. Students may not concurrently register in PHYS 1P21 , 1P91 , or 1P95 . Note: designed for students without high school physics experience. Time taken to develop related mathematical skills.
