Description
Media and Sport (also offered as COMM 3P22 and PCUL 3P22 ) Relations between sport organizations, the mass media and popular culture. Topics may include the commodification of sport, media rights, sponsorship, fan cultures, and the representation of sports in journalism and popular entertainment. Lectures, seminar, 3 hours per week. Prerequisite(s): COMM 2P98 , SPMA 2P65 or permission of the instructor. Note: this course may be offered in multiple modes of delivery. The method of delivery will be listed on the academic timetable, in the applicable term. Completion of this course will replace previous assigned grade and credit obtained in SPMA (COMM /PCUL ) 2P22.
