UPEI MBA grad launches Boardwalk Inc.; wins $25,000 to commercialize AI for construction estimating and compliance
Dylan Cooper (MBA in Global Leadership, UPEI) founded Boardwalk Inc., creating AI software to automate construction estimating and compliance reporting. Since August 2026 he received $25,000 from Innovation PEI’s Ignition Fund and was accepted into Volta AI Residency and CDL‑Atlantic Prime.
After completing his MBA in August 2026, Dylan Cooper is commercializing classroom insights into Boardwalk Inc., which aims to produce compliance reports, system designs and bills of materials from standard construction drawings to save estimating time and reduce errors. The venture secured $25,000 in seed funding from Innovation PEI’s Ignition Fund, was accepted into Volta’s AI Residency in Halifax, and earned a place in the nine‑month Prime stream of Creative Destruction Lab‑Atlantic (hosted at Dalhousie’s Faculty of Management). Cooper is finalizing the hire of his first developer to advance commercialization.
