Algonquin renews 20‑year partnership to train Military Geomatics Technicians (Ontario College Diploma)
Algonquin College marked the renewal on Nov 4, 2026 of its 20‑year partnership with the Canadian Armed Forces’ School of Military Mapping. The program prepares students to capture, process and manage geospatial data and awards an Ontario College Diploma as Geomatics Technician.
The renewed collaboration (since 2007) supports training for Military Geomatics Technicians who learn to measure, analyse and present geospatial information using current technologies. Graduates earn an Ontario College Diploma in Geomatics Technician. Algonquin and the School of Military Mapping cooperate to adapt delivery and provide applied, technology‑focused instruction tailored to operational geospatial needs.
