Source publication : 2026-10-19 · Brock University

Alyssa Scalera (BSM ’23, MSM ’26) of Brock University has been named Manager, Sport Development at Gymnastics Canada. Her studies — including Brock’s Master of Sport Management launched in 2025 — plus a part‑time role and a practicum supported the development of a national judges’ strategy.

After an injury ended her competitive gymnastics career, Alyssa Scalera transitioned into sport administration through Brock’s Sport Management programs. She started at Gymnastics Canada as a Sport Development Co‑ordinator in January 2023, joined Brock’s inaugural Master of Sport Management cohort (launched 2025), and completed a practicum that produced a four‑year operational roadmap to professionalize judging. Following her graduation ceremony on Oct. 16, 2026, she steps into the role of Manager, Sport Development to advance the judging system and work on emerging disciplines such as parkour and acrobatic gymnastics.
