Brock MEd graduate develops resources to integrate technology in early childhood education

Source publication : 2026-10-20 · Brock University

Ramanpreet Kaur Bains (BECE ’24, MEd ’26), who graduated Oct. 16, 2026, researched how technology (movement videos, dance, yoga) can support gross motor development in early childhood. Her survey found 90% of ECE educators want to use technology but lack training and resources.

While working full time as an early childhood educator, Bains completed a master’s project supervised by Assistant Professor Jaime Barratt exploring intentional uses of movement videos, dance prompts and yoga to boost children’s physical activity and motor skills. Her survey highlights strong professional interest in leveraging technology alongside a clear gap in training and resources. Bains intends to pursue a PhD to produce a step‑by‑step resource and professional‑development tools to help educators integrate technology in healthy, pedagogically sound ways in preschool classrooms.
