Source publication : 2026-10-22 · The Vermilion Voice

Lakeland College held its Fall Classic Rodeo Oct. 16–18, 2026 at the Livestock Learning Centre in Vermilion, bringing intercollegiate competitors together and highlighting the college’s active rodeo program: more than 120 students in the Rodeo Club this year and approximately 80 registered for intercollegiate competition. The weekend featured mounted events and rough stock; a Bareback/Saddle Bronc School is scheduled for Nov. 6–8, 2026.

The three‑day Fall Classic included two main rodeos plus slack sessions, with events such as pole bending, tie‑down and breakaway roping, goat tying, team roping, steer wrestling and barrel racing, alongside bareback, saddle bronc and bull riding. Coached by Braiden Bach, the Lakeland Rustlers competed on home ground with local support. Rodeo has been part of Lakeland College since 1969; the college also hosts a spring Little Royal and will run a Bareback/Saddle Bronc School Nov. 6–8, 2026.
