Award‑winning author Francesca Ekwuyasi will deliver McGill’s Queer History Month keynote on 15 October 2026. Reception 4:30 p.m.; keynote and dialogue 5:30–7:30 p.m. at Tanna Schulich Hall. Registration available.

Francesca Ekwuyasi, author of Butter Honey Pig Bread and recipient of the Dayne Ogilvie Prize, will speak at McGill on 15 October. The event opens with a catered reception at 4:30 p.m., followed by her keynote and a dialogue (5:30–7:30 p.m.) with Amber Rose Johnson, Assistant Professor in McGill’s Department of English. Ekwuyasi, a finalist for the Governor General’s Literary Award, Amazon Canada First Novel Award and Lambda Literary Award and longlisted for the Scotiabank Giller Prize, draws on her experiences across Nigeria, Halifax and Montreal and mentors MFA students.
