MSVU and Gunma University deepen international education ties through student and faculty exchange
This summer, four students and one faculty member from Gunma University (Japan) visited Mount Saint Vincent University for a teaching-focused exchange. They led cultural activities, attended B.Ed. classes on technology and curriculum, joined a reconciliation exercise, and explored steps to expand exchanges, practicums and joint research.
As part of the partnership, visiting Gunma participants ran Japanese cultural workshops for MSVU day campers, introduced hands‑on activities and observed and joined Bachelor of Education courses covering technology integration, curriculum planning and assessment. They took part in the KAIROS Blanket Exercise and visited the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, linking multiculturalism with classroom practice. MSVU and Gunma University indicated plans to create additional student and faculty exchange opportunities, international practicums and collaborative research to strengthen teaching and learning on both campuses.
