Source publication : 2026-10-10 · Radio-Canada — société

Kiuna College in Odanak celebrates 15 years. It offers pathways to employment or university, courses in French, English and Indigenous languages, and 18 student residences.

Kiuna provides learning grounded in First Nations cultures and aims to lower barriers to postsecondary study. The college offers 18 residences (6 family apartments, 12 shared units), language support for non‑native French speakers, and a partnership with Cégep de l'Abitibi‑Témiscamingue. Satellite classes run in Wemotaci, Kanesatake and Kahnawake. On its 15th anniversary the leadership also mentioned a proposed “maison du savoir,” an Indigenous university project whose details will be disclosed in early 2027; that initiative remains in planning.
