UQAM awards three honorary doctorates at the Warsaw School of Economics (13 Oct 2026)
On 13 October 2026 UQAM conferred honorary doctorates on Marek Rocki, Adam Budnikowski and Piotr Grzegorz Wachowiak at the Warsaw School of Economics. The ceremony, attended by UQAM rector Stéphane Pallage and ESG dean Komlan Sedzro, highlights a more than 30‑year partnership with ESG UQAM and the prominence of the Canadian Executive MBA (CEMBA).
The honours recognise lengthy careers in teaching, research and institutional collaboration between Montreal and Warsaw. Marek Rocki was noted for econometrics, higher‑education reform and membership in a UNESCO group on rankings; Adam Budnikowski for contributions to international and environmental economics dating to the 1970s; and Piotr G. Wachowiak for leadership since 2020 and for strengthening the CEMBA linking the two schools. ESG UQAM also presented its Médaille de l’UQAM and the Décadra prize to key contributors during the event, underscoring sustained partnership efforts behind joint programs.
