McMaster University’s Latin American Network (LANMU) convened students, staff, faculty and community members on Oct. 8 at CIBC Hall to celebrate culture and research. Hosted by master’s student Nicole Taís Fröhlich (neuroscience), the event featured performances by Asociacion Fraternidad Hispana and SACHA, shared meals and a second annual student research showcase with projects on migrant farm worker justice, mental health and identity among Latinx students. LANMU will continue programming through October, including a fireside chat with Alejandro Adem (NSERC) aimed at inspiring Latin American researchers and a screening of Karuara on Oct. 29.
