UQAM launches CRSH-funded study of diplomatic 'walkouts' and seeks 3–4 student researchers
UQAM political scientist Emmanuelle Rousseau is leading a CRSH-funded project studying 'walkouts' and adversarial practices at the OSCE and UN since Russia's invasion; she plans to recruit 3–4 students to analyze documents and images.
Professor Emmanuelle Rousseau (UQAM) received CRSH support to investigate how international bodies such as the OSCE and UN have shifted from venues of dialogue to forums of confrontation following the 2022 invasion of Ukraine. Having spent nine months in 2022 at the OSCE headquarters in Vienna and published in Review of International Studies, she will analyze meeting records, social-media images posted by delegations, and conduct interviews with session moderators and diplomats when possible. Rousseau is seeking to recruit three to four student researchers to assist with document coding, image analysis and archival research; accreditation requests to observe UN sessions are pending.
