Brock offers LABR 1P96 ‘Labour Behind the Label’ in January and highlights degrees, co‑op and PLAR options

Source publication : 2026-11-05 · Brock University

Brock will offer LABR 1P96 (Labour Behind the Label) in the Winter term, an introductory course on labour behind consumer goods. The Labour Studies department also highlights its Bachelor’s, co‑op, certificate and micro‑certificate pathways, plus Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) credits.

Taught by Department Chair Simon Black, LABR 1P96 is available to all Brock students for the January (Winter) term with no prior Labour Studies experience required. Course content covers global labour conditions and includes a local mall field trip. The department promotes multiple entry routes — Bachelor’s programs, co‑op placements, certificates and college collaborations — and offers PLAR to grant credit for relevant work experience.
