MSVU launches two-year, thesis-based MSc in Natural Sciences — Fall 2026 inaugural cohort

MSVU welcomed its inaugural cohort for a new two‑year MSc in Natural Sciences, a thesis-based, interdisciplinary program approved by the Maritime Provinces Higher Education Commission in summer 2026. It emphasizes hands-on research, small-cohort supervision and training in research methods including equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility.

Mount Saint Vincent University launched its new Master of Science in Natural Sciences in Fall 2026. This two‑year, thesis-based program targets students with a science background who want hands-on research experience. It promotes interdisciplinary study across biology, chemistry and psychology, includes methodological training on equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility, and offers close faculty supervision through a small cohort model. The Maritime Provinces Higher Education Commission approved the program in summer 2026. Research topics pursued by the inaugural students include quantum mechanics, pathogenic fungi and studies of overwintering agricultural pests in Nova Scotia, among others.
