Memorial University welcomes new international students with a community reception
In late September 2026, Memorial University held a welcome reception at the Global Learning Centre for incoming international students. The Internationalization Office and senior leaders organized introductions, social activities and peer connections; Memorial hosts 2,600+ international students from 120+ countries.
At the end of September 2026, Memorial University welcomed incoming international students with a community reception organized by the Internationalization Office at the Global Learning Centre. New arrivals met advisors, senior leaders and peers, shared a hot meal, and took part in social activities and prize draws. Memorial reports more than 2,600 international students this semester, including about 70 exchange students and 82 students accompanied by family, representing over 120 countries. The event underscores campus initiatives to help newcomers connect and begin their studies within a supportive community.
