Dalhousie Agricultural Campus to dismantle its 1955 water tower; photos invited during Homecoming (15–17 Oct 2026)
Dalhousie Agricultural Campus will dismantle its 1955 water tower (110 ft, 104,000 gallons) in October 2026. The tower has been decommissioned since 2017; photos welcome during Homecoming (15–17 Oct).
The 110‑ft tower that held 104,000 gallons and replaced an earlier structure in 1955 is scheduled for dismantling in October 2026. Dalhousie Agricultural Campus moved to Truro’s municipal water supply in 2017, so the tower has not been part of the active system for years and now serves as a campus landmark. Alumni, current students and visitors are invited to photograph the structure during Homecoming Weekend, 15–17 October 2026. University communications indicate the dismantling will be completed by the end of October.
