A student from Trenton enrolled in Cambrian College’s Welding and Fabrication program is among nine recipients of the 2026 Schulich Builders Scholarships for Skilled Trades. The scholarships award $40,000 to two‑year programs and $20,000 to one‑year certificates, covering tuition, tools and living expenses.
Kayla Simm, a Welding and Fabrication student at Cambrian College, received a $40,000 Schulich Builders Scholarship for a two‑year trades program. She is one of nine Cambrian recipients named in 2026 through this national initiative that supports apprenticeship and college trades training. Awards are intended to cover tuition, the cost of tools and living expenses, and to encourage new entrants — including underrepresented groups — to pursue careers in skilled trades across Canada.
