Toronto practice hub opens to help internationally educated nurses refresh skills and find mentorship

Source publication : 2026-10-15 · CityNews Toronto

A practice hub opened on Oct. 15, 2026 in Toronto (Bathurst/Wilson), led by the Filipino IENs Society of Canada and CDR College. It offers workshops, mentorship and micro‑trainings to help internationally educated nurses refresh clinical skills, pursue certifications and rebuild workplace confidence; open weekdays except Wednesday.

The hub provides a permanent space where internationally educated nurses (IENs) can practice clinical skills, attend hands‑on micro‑trainings (including PSW upskilling) and receive mentorship from Canadian nurses who were formerly IENs. Organizers plan practical workshops, peer facilitation and support to regain professional confidence and to pursue additional certifications. Located near Bathurst Street and Wilson Avenue, the centre runs weekday programs (closed Wednesdays). The next scheduled session, 'IEN Nursing Skills Essentials', is set for Oct. 17. Volunteers and facilitators contribute through community sessions, and organizers say the permanent site enables regular offerings to support IENs preparing for the Canadian workforce.
