Georgian College Golf Classic raises a record $240,000 for student awards and supports
The 34th Georgian College Golf Classic on Sept. 29 raised $240,000 net to fund awards, scholarships, bursaries and student supports, bringing lifetime total above $2 million; a WestJet raffle runs to Oct. 6.
On Sept. 29, the 34th Georgian College Golf Classic at The Club at Bond Head drew nearly 270 golfers and generated $240,000 in net proceeds for awards, scholarships, bursaries and essential supports including the Georgian FoodLocker. The total pushes the event’s lifetime fundraising beyond $2 million. Presenting sponsor belairdirect matched donations dollar for dollar up to $25,000, helping to unlock more than $50,000 in support. Students from massage therapy, hospitality, arts and trades programs contributed to the event’s services and activities. Fundraising continues through a WestJet raffle open until Oct. 6 (licence RAF1569463).
