U of S Sled Dogs test 1/4‑scale tractors at Warman-area farm
On Oct. 3, University of Saskatchewan students tested 1/4‑scale tractors at farmer Kenny Beauchemin’s site near Warman, SK. The Sled Dogs design and build a tractor annually for the ASABE International Quarter‑Scale Tractor Design Competition; the 2026 event ran May 29–31 in Bloomington, Illinois.
The University of Saskatchewan’s Sled Dogs student team held on‑site trials on Oct. 3 at Kenny Beauchemin’s farm just east of Warman, Saskatchewan. Mainly engineering students, with members from business and biology, the team ran light and heavy pulls to evaluate different tractor designs before future competitions. Each year the Sled Dogs design, build and enter a 1/4‑scale tractor in the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) international contest. Regular visits to Beauchemin’s track resumed after a COVID pause; his motorsports experience provides a practical testing venue for the team.
