UQAM develops university training in osteopathy: microprograms and bachelor‑to‑master continuum under evaluation (2026)
Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) is developing university training in osteopathy. UQAM already offers two 15‑credit microprograms; a bachelor‑to‑master continuum is under evaluation to train new practitioners.
UQAM is creating a university pathway intended to train osteopaths from the Quebec pre‑university (CÉGEP) stream. It currently offers two 15‑credit graduate microprograms in clinical safety and professional development for practicing osteopaths. The proposed bachelor‑to‑master continuum is designed so the master’s would meet the competency level expected under the regulatory framework being defined in Quebec; a bachelor alone will not confer the professional title or licence. The program emphasizes evidence integration, clinical reasoning and patient safety.
