Memorial’s Campus Connect helps 130+ first‑year students build connections and navigate campus
Campus Connect at Memorial brought together more than 130 new students this fall in small‑group meetups led by student leaders. Social activities, resume help and guidance to campus supports help newcomers integrate; participation can be recorded on Memorial’s Online Record of Experience.
This fall Memorial University ran Campus Connect, a peer‑led social mentorship program that attracted over 130 new students. Student leaders such as Abby Murphy (5th year, Bachelor of Commerce, co‑op) organize small‑group meetups, walks (Kelly’s Brook Trail), resume workshops, visits to the Career Fair and low‑pressure gatherings (pool and darts at The Breezeway). First‑year participant Wylie Coombs is enrolled in a Bachelor of Recreation and is considering switching to Kinesiology. The program aims to build friendships, increase awareness of campus supports and allow recognition of involvement on Memorial’s Online Record of Experience.
