Dr. Raghav Sampangi, a University Teaching Fellow in Dalhousie’s Faculty of Computer Science, has been awarded the 2026 President’s Award for Outstanding Contributions to Teaching and Learning. The report highlights concrete, student-focused practices: weekly supportive emails, the “Life Happens” clause and use of the Student Declaration of Absence, Creative Curiosity assignments that offer bonus marks, and course representatives who gather student feedback. He emphasizes inclusion and compassion and is pursuing a second PhD on the human experience of AI in teaching, which he intends to apply to better support students.
