UQAM joins ‘La lecture en cadeau’ (Nov 9–Dec 9, 2026) to collect new books for children
UQAM is participating in La lecture en cadeau (Nov 9–Dec 9, 2026), collecting new books for children aged 0–12. Since 1999 the initiative has distributed over 1.6 million books. Monetary donations and a youth book sale on Dec 1–2 at the campus are available.
La lecture en cadeau runs from November 9 to December 9, 2026. Launched in 1999 by the Fondation pour l’alphabétisation, the campaign gathers new books for children from disadvantaged backgrounds (ages 0–12); more than 1.6 million books have been distributed to date. UQAM hosts collection points and, on December 1–2, will hold a new youth book sale with COOP UQAM (Agora, pavillon Judith-Jasmin, 11:00–18:00). Financial donations are accepted (1 $ = 1 book); tax receipts are issued for gifts of $20 or more.
