On 2 October 2026 the University of Windsor launched Fusion, a university‑wide Innovation and Entrepreneurship Network to move classroom and laboratory ideas into businesses, not‑for‑profits, technologies and community impact. Fusion integrates entrepreneurial training, coaching, programs, physical spaces and partnerships across disciplines, building on more than a decade of initiatives such as the Innovation Fellowship and Makerspace. It will collaborate with WEtech Alliance, Invest WindsorEssex, City of Windsor, Windsor‑Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network and IP Ontario. Student groups including ENACTUS UWindsor and the Hult Prize will engage through the Joyce Entrepreneurship Centre.
