Ontario funds 2,077 additional postsecondary seats in Southwest Ontario — enrollment possible Fall 2026

Ontario is investing CA$44 million to add 2,077 seats at University of Windsor, Lambton College and St. Clair College in STEM, health, education and trades. This is part of a CA$1.7 billion provincial effort to create over 70,000 new seats; seats may be available Fall 2026.

The Ontario government is providing CA$44 million to fund 2,077 additional postsecondary seats across the University of Windsor, Lambton College and St. Clair College. Breakdown: 1,672 seats at University of Windsor (654 STEM, 549 health, 469 education), 297 at Lambton College (160 health, 90 STEM, 47 trades) and 108 at St. Clair College (health). The allocation forms part of a CA$1.7 billion provincial program to support more than 70,000 new seats in high‑demand fields. New seats may be available for student enrollment as early as Fall 2026.
