UQAM launches Allia, a free conversational AI to help autistic people access financial‑aid forms

Source publication : 2026-10-19 · Université du Québec à Montréal

UQAM unveils Allia, a free conversational agent to help autistic people, families and professionals complete financial‑aid forms (SEH, CIPH). Launch will be held in two webinars on 22 and 29 Oct. 2026.

Led by sociology professor Catherine Des Rivières‑Pigeon with researcher Bianka Corbin, and developed with Videns and Mila, Allia asks targeted, individualized questions to build a user profile, propose tailored responses for form items and produce documents ready for review. Designed with autistic people, families and community organizations, the tool aims to reduce administrative barriers to programs such as the Supplément pour enfant handicapé (SEH) and the Crédit d’impôt pour personnes handicapées (CIPH). Quebec‑wide dissemination will use the Réseau national d’expertise en trouble du spectre de l’autisme (RNETSA).
