캐나다 정규유학 교육제도 // 응용학사 프로그램

캐나다 온타리오주의 중등교육과정은 OAC를 포함하여 13학년까지
였습니다. 그러나 이 제도는 98년도까지만 적용되었고, 99년도에 고등 학교 과정(9학년)을 시작한 학생들부터는 12학년제가 되었습니다.

그 결과 2003년 6월에는 13학년과 12학년으로 고등학교 교육을 마치게 되는 학생수가 예년에 비해 거의 2배가 배출됩니다. 이로인해 전문대학이나 종합대학으로 지원자가 배가 되어, 이를 Double Cohort 라 말하며, 수년전부터 온타리오주의 대학들은 이 Double Cohort를 대비하여 시설확충, 추가 프로그램 개설, 교수진 확보를 위하여 많은 노력을 해왔습니다. 이에 대한 한 방안으로 온타리오주의 전문대학에서는 2년의 전문학사과정과 더불어 4년의 응용학사과정을 개설하게 되었
