Dear International Education Advisor,

The Canadian Education Centre (CEC) Network's 12th Annual Agent Fair will take place from November 25 - 26, 2009 at the Delta St. John's Hotel and Mile One Centre in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada.

One of the oldest cities in North America, St. John's, Newfoundland, is where warm, friendly faces are waiting to welcome you to their eclectic town. The Delta Hotel and the Mile One Centre are in close proximity to the financial, business and entertainment centres and with a spectacular view of the St. John's Narrows.

The Agent Fair is a two-day event built on bringing together Canadian institutions with overseas education advisors in order to build relationships and discuss relevant issues pertaining to international education. The CEC Network Agent Fair has emerged as the most important and productive opportunity for international education agents to develop their business with Canada.

Agent Benefits Include:

  • Complimentary registration

  • Complimentary 3 nights hotel accommodation (November 24, 25, 26)

  • Breakfasts, lunches and coffee breaks during the event

  • An off-site reception on Wednesday evening

  • Reception and Gala Dinner on Thursday evening

  • Complimentary city tour of St. John's on Friday, November 27

  • Attendance at Canadian Education Briefing

  • Complimentary access to the eSchedule PRO online scheduling system to help you schedule appointments with participating Canadian institutions.

  • The Agent Fair Booklet: includes full profiles and contact information for the participating Canadian institutions as well as information about the Canadian education system

 Why Canada?

  • Canada is recognized as a world leader in education, offering excellent-quality programs at all levels of study. Canadian courses, certificates, diplomas and degrees are highly regarded in business, government and academic circles around the world.

  • Canadian education is competitively priced, particularly when compared to equivalent programs in the United States, the UK, or Australia.

  • In Canada, the international student is able to enjoy a wide range of experiences, from urban life in safe, clean, sophisticated cities to outdoor adventures in untouched wilderness.

  • Canada is one of the most multicultural countries in the world and provides a welcoming atmosphere for international students.

How the Agent Fair Works:

Accepted agents will receive access to their own personal e-Schedule PRO account beginning in August. With this account you will be able to access the list of participating schools, including contact names and profiles. Similarly, your contact information will be provided to all schools taking part in the Agent Fair. Each school interested in meeting with your agency will send you an email with a link to their private interactive online e-Schedule PRO account. You will also be able to request meetings with schools.

Agents are required to have a minimum of 17 appointments booked before arriving in Canada. Each appointment is 25 minutes in length, with a total of 24 appointments over two days. An Agent Briefing seminar featuring valuable information about student visa procedures, working with Canadian institutions and an overview of the Canadian education system will take place on Wednesday morning. There will also be a number of networking opportunities during meals, receptions and coffee breaks.

Please note: Agents are not permitted to offer or promote any courses, education programs, incoming travel services or fairs offered by themselves or any affiliated organizations. The Agent Fair is an opportunity for educational advisors and Canadian institutions to meet and discuss terms of cooperation and recruitment of international students to Canada.

If you would like to attend the Agent Fair in St. John's, we invite you to fill out an online application form, which will be available at www.agentfair.ca beginning May 13, 2009.

In the meantime, should you have any questions, please contact us at agent-fair@cecnetwork.ca

We hope to see you this November in St. John's!

Best regards,

Jackie Herrington
